H&Y Infinite Open Table Session 32 (Haruspices and Harvester Constructs)

Autumn 35, 6023
The party decides to head down to the nearest dungeon to Circlebrook they know: the Puddlegrass entrance to the Underworld. They head east and make their way back to the lair of the (now deceased) tunnel hulk. They climb down through the hole in the floor and find themselves in a mushroom farm of some kind filled with wickery mushrooms.
They continue exploring and find a room with a portcullis and two levers, one of which has an arrow pointing at the gate and the other of which has a skull next to it. They also see a bloody amphitheater / altar with a giant egg on it with many electrum nails driven into the outside, with a large robot gently scooping blood onto it from the surrounding blood pools.
The party decides that that room is way too whack for them currently and immediately leave, finding themselves in the quarters of a high priest. They carefully investigate the room and finds a giant rune inscribed into the floor along with a shelf full of potions and magic books on the far side outside of their reach. They do some tests to deactivate the rune trap but ultimately decide to avoid the room for now.
The party explores north past the mushroom farm and finds a narrow ladder leaning up against the wall. They abscond with the ladder and bring it back to the high priest's room, carefully balancing the ladder across the floor to allow them to walk across without touching the rune. Tabitha does so and loots the far shelves, finding a magic Tome and enough research materials to make the word CRYSTAL for spell creation. She gathers up what she can before returning to the rest of the party.
Seeing no other options, the party resolves to finally deal with the giant robot. Xiao and Sylvio team up to turn Sylvio's powerful Lightning Bolt spell into an aerosolized version of itself using Xiao's Incense Spell. They taunt the construct through the resulting lightning cloud, killing quite effectively. The party did fail to realize that they'd blocked themselves in with the same lightning cloud, so they camped out in place to wait for sunrise when the spell would finish.
Autumn 36, 6023
The party continues onwards into the altar room. Grumman pulls the nails from the egg and determines them to be Binding Nails. The party smashes the egg, determining that whatever is in it is not something they want to tangle with, possibly ever.
The PCs continue onwards, finding a throne room filled with yet another tribe of dead goblins. They find a kitchen filled with edible mushrooms, which Grumman immediately uses to cook up a meal.
After eating, they hear the sounds of another giant robot coming towards them. They flee past the altar, past the mushroom farm, and past where they got the ladder to find themselves at the stone bridge near the gnomish mutation complex from Session 11. They hide out for a bit, then return up the rope in the mushroom farm back up to the lair of the tunnel hulk and leave back to Circlebrook.
