Infernal Pact

Weekly J3H Campaign Starts 5: Bosuns and Bloodsuckers

I'm going to be making 3 hexes and a town every week of 2024 in the style of Chgowiz's Just 3 Hexes format. I'm planning on keying all of these hexes in the same world (my currently running open table) so I'll keep the hexes in roughly the same area. I'll still preserve the idea that every town could be an adventure starter though.

Infernal Pact

(Hex tiles used in the image are from Zeshio's Pixel Hex Tileset, the map was created using Hex Kit)

Campaign: Shady deals and shadier business practices rule the roost in the waters of Sedgeport. Vampire privateers prowl shark-filled waters, both predators on the hunt for merchantmen fat with plunder from the ruins of the human kingdoms further north. Independent merchants sail into harbors packed with extra guards and heavily warded with solar magic, the temptation of Sedgeport's lucrative markets too good to pass up just based on fear for your life.

Homebase (0404): Sedgeport - A bustling trade port run by open-and-upfront vampire merchant-princes. Streets filled with luxuries from far-off lands and sailors of every creed are shaded by sailcloth awnings and guarded by scowling guards wearing wide-brimmed hats. Legend has it that the heads of house will buy any miracle cure the first time they encounter it, hoping to free themselves of their vampiric curse.

Location 1 (0204): Chicken Point Lighthouse - The only lighthouse around that uses stored daylight to shine, protecting the space from the undead. The Delsky family has maintained the arcane battery and lighthouse complex for generations, also clandestinely offered shelter to anyone fleeing the princes in Sedgeport. Ships have lately been crashing into the coast near the lighthouse despite its presence, causing merchants from all over to cry foul and for the light to be replaced.

Location 2 (0102): Stonehead Island - Heavily wooded and watered uninhabited island used by many as a landmark to find Sedgeport. While the island is used commonly by sailing ships to restock, foraging crews must keep an eye out for the local basilisk population that call the place home. While statues of hapless sailors and small game are common, nobody's got a clue how the basilisks managed to make the statue that gives the island it's name, a 100' tall giant head perched at the highest point of the island.

Location 3 (0401): Fort Lodestone - A fort built to supervise a mine on the island of the same name. The mine and fort are abandoned but the arcane servitor constructs that maintain the place still sort of work, making the fort a convenient pitstop for merchants near Sedgeport but not actually within reach of their patrolboats. Every servitor who goes into the mine complex returns with severe burn marks or not at all, prompting most to avoid it as much as possible while making use of the harbor.
