Infernal Pact

Weekly J3H Campaign Starts 8: Mon Feld

I'm going to be making 3 hexes and a town every week of 2024 in the style of Chgowiz's Just 3 Hexes format. I'm planning on keying all of these hexes in the same world (my currently running open table) so I'll keep the hexes in roughly the same area. I'll still preserve the idea that every town could be an adventure starter though.

Campaign: The desert to the east pushes westwards beyond the bounds of the magical wall that normally limits its growth. The armies to the west march and posture, their directors proselytizing in the streets and crossroads. The winds of change blow, announcing the end of the old in service to the new.

Homebase (1210): Mon Feld - A sleepy orcish market town at the edge of the eastern desert. Mon Feld's position makes it a convenient border town for those entering or leaving the desert, while the surrounding fields and villages maintain it's relevance to the kingdom as a valuable part of the Redmountain clan heartland. Of late, complaints have begun to come in from the outer farms that the desert has slipped the Barrier Matrix and begun to encroach on their farms.

Location 1 (1310): West Barrier Tower - The western terminus of the Barrier Matrix that prevents the spread of the nearby desert. The tower traditionally houses the order of dwarven scholar-wardens that maintain the Barrier Matrix, both their literal home and also the headquarters of their order which is normally spread across the desert. Their crystal walls and powerful spells have seemingly done nothing to stop the winds this year, sand has pushed past them into the grassy fields at several points within sight from the tower.

Location 2 (1510): Rock of Reflection - A temple site in the desert, famous for the prolific placement of mirrors all over the stone structure. The site itself contains a large hall, several isolation cells filled with mirrors, and a large glassblowing complex. Much of the easily accessible mirrors and metal fittings have been taken in the centuries since the temple was last maintained, but none have dared to touch the mirrors in the isolation cells due to rumors of ghostly possession.

Location 3 (1511): Barnak - Old dwarven imperial ruins worn smooth by centuries of deconstruction and wind. The old stone walls have long sheltered bandits and political dissidents, though the exact distinction between the two depends on who you're talking to. The Barrier Matrix nearest the fort has begun to change color to dark purplish color from its normal vibrant red and the change is spreading, a fact that has not gone unnoticed amongst locals.
