H&Y Infinite Open Table Session 30 (Redmountain Sword Tournament)

Note: this session is a bit out of order date-wise. The PCs had learned of the martial tournament a while ago but hadn't actually wanted to make a session of going there. We decided that Sylvio, Xavos and Tabitha would head there "off-screen" while other player characters got some time in the sun. As such, this session takes place during the events of Session 28 and 29.
Autumn 17, 6023
The party heads to Mon Skirt a week ahead of the Redmountain Sword Tournament to look for a sponsor and patron. They meet up with Eydis Redmountain, the adopted sister of Rolof Redmountain and head spymaster of the Redmountain orc clan. Eydis stirs up some trouble by convincing Xavos to "accidentally" kill as many noble scions as he could during the tourney, putting a bounty of 200 coins per kill on their heads. This plan gelled with the strong swordsman and his demonic partner Malphas, who both craved bloodshed.
Their original goal achieved in so short a time, the three adventurers decided to blow the rest of the week by gambling. They rapidly lose several thousand gold over the course of the week.
Autumn 25th, 6023
Xavos fights in the tournament and crushes his first few opponents. Sylvio and Tabitha help him by sabotaging a few opponents and surreptitiously tossing him healing potions between rounds.
In his last fight, Xavos gets unlucky and gets battered around by his opponent, the same captain from the milita complex in Session 24. Malphas takes the opportunity while the demon swordsmand is weak to take over his body, killing his last opponent and hurling a fireball into the stands. Xavos's soul is consumed by Malphas and sent back to the demon's palace in Hell.
Sylvio takes advantage of the damage done by the last opponent and blasts Malphas with his trusty Lightning Bolt, barely managing to finish off the demon before he's able to fully reform.
Eydis pays out her bounty to Sylvio in lieu of Xavos, and the plucky young mage is also able to collect Xavos's winnings from the tournament despite the turmoil around his win. Not learning anything from the previous week, Sylvio bets the lot on a double or nothing bet and walks away with a ludicrous amount of coin. Sylvio and Tabitha decide to leave Mon Skirt while the leaving is good and return to Circlebrook.
Autumn 28th, 6023
